Network Security

Network security refers to the set of measures and practices used to protect computer networks from cyber attacks, theft, and damage.

Network security is a critical component of cybersecurity that encompasses the set of measures and practices used to protect computer networks, including those used in Internet of Things (IoT) environments, from cyber attacks, theft, and damage. It includes a variety of security controls and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, virtual private networks (VPNs), and network segmentation, as well as policies and procedures that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information. In the context of IoT, network security becomes even more important due to the vast number of connected devices and the potential for vulnerabilities to be exploited by cyber attackers. IoT networks often have unique security challenges, such as a diverse range of devices with varying security capabilities, as well as limited processing power and memory on some devices. To address these challenges, specialized network security measures and technologies are required, such as secure boot processes, network traffic analysis, and behavior-based threat detection.
