Non-Repudiation

Non-repudiation is the assurance that a user or system cannot deny having sent or received a message or performed an action.

Non-repudiation is a critical concept in cybersecurity that ensures accountability and trust in digital transactions, particularly in the context of the Internet of Things (IoT). With the proliferation of IoT devices and the increasing amount of data they generate, non-repudiation plays an important role in verifying the authenticity and integrity of information.Non-repudiation is achieved through the use of digital signatures, cryptographic techniques, and other authentication mechanisms that provide proof of the identity of the sender and the integrity of the message or action. This helps to prevent disputes and provides a legal basis for transactions. In the IoT industry, non-repudiation is particularly important in areas such as supply chain management, where the authenticity and integrity of data can be critical for ensuring product safety and quality. It also plays a vital role in areas such as healthcare, where the secure exchange of sensitive patient data is essential.
