We are proud to announce that Kudelski IoT Principal Architect, Christopher Buffard, has been named chairperson of the Security Working Group of the LoRa Alliance® (https://lora-alliance.org), where he will be leading the efforts to ensure that LoRa implementers have access to robust security guidelines and specifications.
Christophe was part of the team that designed Kudelski IoT keySTREAM, an end-to-end security enablement and device management service created to enable data protection, data policy management and local decision-making across a range of network types, including bandwidth-constrained systems.
Christophe also represents Kudelski IoT in GSMA for IoT security and remote provisioning and management.
Previously he specialized in the digital media industry in the areas of content protection and metadata signaling. He was involved in Digital Rights Management (DRM) and Conditional Access System (CAS) design and end-to-end architecture. He also worked as full-stack architect for secure embedded device middleware solutions for Digital TV and represented Kudelski’s pay-TV arm, NAGRA, in several sub-committees in the Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) standardization body (part of ITU and IETF).
Christopher has several academic publications for his research in mathematics, specifically related to algebraic languages. He received his Master of Science in Computing Science from EPITA engineering school in Paris, France. He was research assistant at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), studying formal algebraic languages for the dynamic analysis of concurrent programs, a program sponsored by the Swiss Federal research fund and European DeVa fund.
